Fundations Introductory Workshops

The Fundations Introductory Workshops provide a practical, how-to overview of the Fundations program. Introductory Workshops include an Introduction Module and Level-specific Modules.

The half-day Introduction Module is a prerequisite for the Level-specific Modules, and focuses on:

• Underlying principles of Fundations
• Background knowledge for effective program implementation
• How Fundations addresses the essential components of reading

Level-specific Modules are available for Level K, 1, 2, 3 and Intervention. These Modules focus on skills, materials, activities, and lesson planning of the specific level. The Intervention Module focuses on effective Tier 2 implementation.

Level-specific Modules will help participants to:

• Plan a Fundations lesson and determine a weekly schedule for a unit
• Implement Fundations lesson activities
• Optimize use of program materials

Target Audience

Fundations Introductory Workshops are designed
for teachers just beginning to use the program. It
is also appropriate for reading support personnel
such as reading coaches.
